ArtificiaI Intelligence Initiative at Ä¢¹½tv - AII@Ä¢¹½tv

Ä¢¹½tv AII@Ä¢¹½tv

AII@Ä¢¹½tv is a campus and community wide faculty-led artificial intelligence (AI) literacy initiative designed by CINSER to strengthen curricular and co-curricular integration of artificial intelligence throughout all fields of study at Ä¢¹½tv as well as to inform and provide a platform for discussion about AI and its integration in society.

The aim of AII@Ä¢¹½tv is to support Ä¢¹½tv faculty to educate students and to contribute to research to address the societal transformations generated by artificial intelligence in everyday life. Because of the emerging and defining role of AI in contemporary society which leaves individuals vulnerable to social and economic consequences of transformative technologies, participation from faculty from all disciplines across campus is essential to collectively decide how this technology will be addressed through teaching, learning and research.

AII@Ä¢¹½tv has six goals:

  1. Develop AI awareness in Ä¢¹½tv faculty from various disciplines
  2. Equip Ä¢¹½tv faculty with basic or enhanced knowledge of AI and AI tools that can be infused into existing courses
  3. Plan for future partnership with  AI institutes for professional development and professional networking
  4. Support infusion of AI in curriculum development
  5. Establish the groundwork for cross-disciplinary AI research projects
  6. Develop a faculty-led, campus-wide strategic roadmap for the integration of AI at Ä¢¹½tv

The intended impacts of this project include enhancing the ability of Ä¢¹½tv to produce graduates who have the capability to understand and skillfully engage with AI in their careers and to participate meaningfully in society, guiding it as it is being transformed by AI. This initiative will also allow a space for broader community dialog about AI in society. Ä¢¹½tv's Center for Teaching and Research Excellence is a partner on this project.
